I hug you

I embrace you with light.

I wrap you in stars.

I entwine you with flowers.

I shelter you with leaves.

I support you with every twig.

I embrace you with my whole being.

I love you with every fibre of my being.

I will always be by your side.

This project is about my teenage children. Using family archives, I transform the plane of the photograph: I print the images, embellish them with hand embroidery, illuminate them from within, and re-capture this process through the camera. Every stitch here becomes a gesture of shelter and protection, capturing the warmth of a parent’s presence during the difficult period of growing up.
